Hello my name is Nancy. I am a
communications studies major. This blog is for ENG 103 Research Paper. This is
my last semester. I will be graduating this summer. I am planning on taking a
semester off before I attend a four-year school. I have not yet decided if I am
going to continue with communications or focus more on public relations. I was
also contemplating about Business with a focus in entrepreneurship. I just
finished up an internship at a special events planning non-profit agency and I
was able to attend New York Fashion Week (NYFW). That was my first time at NYFW
and it was very gracious of them for letting me attend a couple of shows. This
was a great experience for me because I would like to be a Fashion Publicist in
the near future. It was a great way to get my feet wet.
I am not a big film watcher, but I
do enjoy comedies. I like to laugh. I don’t always like watching movies with heavy
plots. One of my favorite book genres is historical fiction because I don’t
like history. When historical events are coupled with a fabricated story line
it makes it more interesting to me. I also like some science fiction and
fantasy novels because it is a great way to get loss in a different world. It
also gives you a chance to use your imagination. I also occasionally read some
Young Adults but most of them are not interesting.
I am a technology optimist. I love
technology and I love the advancements that it makes everyday. If I had the
money I would own every single gadget and upgrades that are available. Since I don’t have the money I
typically admire from a far. I think my technology level is pretty basic, but I
would like to dive in and learn more about the technical sides and pre
production. Be able to get into how things works and specifications, and know
what they mean. When it comes to people today and technology I think that it is
a toss up. It really depends on the person. Some people love technology and
embrace. Some people cannot stand it and refuse to give in. The rest just
always ends up adapting to the times. Most people I know typically adapt and
there is always some type of learning curve.
